Artist statement

My ceramic work is inspired by the philosophy that beauty lies in simplicity and the subtle details that often go unnoticed. Drawing inspiration from mid-century-modern design, the primary focus of my work lies in decorative vessels, termed ‘weedpots’ by the great ceramicist Doyle Lane. These vases focus on form rather than function, and are designed to hold a single dried stem.

Each piece is a contemplation in clay, an exploration of curves, textures, and the interplay of light and shadow. I believe in the quiet power of understated elegance, where each vessel serves as a gentle complement to the home’s decor rather than commanding center stage.

I strive to create pieces that blend seamlessly with their surroundings, adding a touch of serenity and sophistication without overwhelming the senses. These vessels are small sculptures, each with its own personality and story, contributing to the narrative of the home in a modest yet meaningful way.
